Racial Imbalance at the Free Store/Food bank….why is this?

We donate one weekend each Month where we work at our cities free food store. It’s a very large operation even running a full service food service that offer 2 hot meals per day to anyone. If you show up and say you are in need you can recieve up to 15lbs of food per day per family…NO questions asked!
After my 3rd year of doing this I have noticed a few glaring things that I don’t have an answer for. Our city has a 8.5% black population and this is what happens. All of the volunteers are white people and I’m mean ALL….and 99% of the clients (that’s what we call them) are black. We have asked some to help volunteer and none of them ever seem to want to help…just recieve. It’s rare to even get a thank you when you see the same people year after year…they really feel entitled and even complain if we don’t have certain products…they rarely take bottled water…they want pop, chips and junk food. We srve around 300 children each day with hot meals…they show up without parents from age 2 to 75 years old…same people everyday, free meal and bags of groceries. Every once in a while a white family comes and that’s a rare sight…they are generally treated badly by the black people who see them taking THEIR food that has been donated by white people. One one side of our building (race street) is for people donating…they other side (vine street) is the line to recieve…in other words whites on one side and blacks on the other.
why is this like this?
if you have "clients" that are rude to you while you are helping them out then why don’t you tell them to fuck off and give the food to someone else?
edit-look question asker, you shouldn’t ask these kinds of questions on yahoo because the people in here are retarded and PC…they are actually blaming YOU for not volunteering good enough!!! these people spend all of their free time on yahoo instead of volunteering like you do, and then they have the balls to tell you that you are doing it wrong
how about this, just take these yahoo peoples advice and stop volunteering, let those rude bums in your neighborhood starve to death for all you care
If I ACCIDENTALLY pour food all over a rude customer on my last day of work, will I still get my paycheck?

And since it was on accident, can I avoid legal action?
I am 19 and give free food samples out at a grocery store, for my summer job.
Most customers are nice, but today I was serving a family and this lady on those electric store scooters rams into my cart and is like, "I want watermelon!" and I was like, "Ma’am, you will have to wait a second because these customers were here first." and she mumbled, "Well, I thought they were done!" and when I got to her, I pulled a large watermelon piece out for her to be nice and she was like, "You don’t have to take one from the bottom — just take it off the top!" and then she rolled away and was like "WHAT A BITCH!"
I’ll be quitting my job in two weeks for college, and am hoping she’ll be there my last day so I can accidentally spill whatever I am cooking all over her.
I’m just curious, since it would be on accident, most likely from her raming into my cart, would I still be able to get my paycheck and would I get in trouble?

You have to recieve your paycheck regardless of what you do. Or else you should be pursuing legal action against your employer.

When I lived in southern Cali, every year the local supermarkets would do some kind of deal where if you bought a certain amount of groceries (like $75 or something like that), they’d either give you a free frozen turkey or something like $25 off a fresh turkey. Anyone know if any of the supermarkets in the DC area are going to be offering similar discounts in the upcoming weeks? I’m trying to plan out my Thanksgiving on a budget. If anyone knows, please let me know Many thanks!
well they don’t really start until after halloween..but I work at safeway and they will have turkeys at 50cents a pound..and so will shoppers and giant..Food loin has the buy so many groceries u get a free turkey starting nov 2.

I tried the P&G website and you have to use a shoppers card which I can’t get because those stores are no where near the town I live in. I’m looking for coupons you can use at walmart.
I know this isn’t a parenting question but I figured moms and dads know a thing or two about saving money.

I want some honest and answers. Please! Hello, I am met T 13 month ago Online. We have had happy times. I can say I care about him.
The Chemistry is good. BUT and here comes the BIG BUT. He has been showing some strong Emotional abusive tendency’s. I want to know what you guys think. Not just woman please guys feel free to answer this one as well. First of all, he stayed with me pretty much since Dec 08 till March 09. We spend allot ot time together. He met my daughters and they seemingly got along. BUT when he was here it was not so perfect anymore. My niece was here from Germany to visit me. I am German. And so we would talk German. He would say things like don’t talk so much German. My niece English ability is good but not super good. He actually asked me once to ask my niece in English , to come with me to the Lady’s room. I was absolutly confused. SO fare he made every Holiday miserable. Things did not go his way, he would pull me inside the bathroom and complain at me like I was seven years old. For Christmas me and my niece sat down for like an half hour to watch some UPN. She loves the black Culture. Is very fascinated by it. So we watched Black Television..this is when he came to me and ask me to switch the SHOW to a Christimas Movies…his words exaclty today is not Black Day. I found that very disgusting. He would get upset when I talked to my Ex/ father of my children/best friend about my family. He wanted to have all the News
before anybody else. But my sister, asked me not to disclose her Private Life to T because she does not trust him. T has been unemployeed since December He has helped out around the house.I know he tried to make up for all the mean comments.I have been supporting him, offering him free rent, groceries, free Utilities. I was paying that with my Ex’s Alimony. He was good enought to pay for T’s food but not for me and him to chat about my sister. I do not understand this man at all.
He says things like tell me that you love me! While he was here he was getting ver involved in my childrens Parenting. I asked him numerous times to stay out of it. And then when it got super bad I told him this is none of your buisness he would freak getting up pointing at me saying **** you…….This happend on serveral occasions. Once he said something really dumb….and I said to him in a joking way sometimes u need to think before u say stupid …and he got up looked at me and made me apologize…..between being called stupid woman..or sometimes oh you german….or **** you when I really pissed him off…..He makes me feel scared. He gives me looks that intimitdate me. He is not a good Example. He drove without a Seatbelt once when my kids were in the Car, he has trash he just thros it out the window. Regardless, of how large. My Ex just came back from Iraq and is staying with me he was shocked…after all the snow was melted he found the front lawn destroyed….100 Cigarrette Butts. Its looks horrible. Thrown into the neighbour yard. NOW T is moved out he moved in March. I could not take it any longer. My kids say they are happy he is gone. NOW please everybody tell me if I am overreacting that I am on a break with him….???? He seems to think soo…
I’m pretty sure that after writing this all down in one place and getting it off your chest when you look at it all at once, if you are a sane person at all, you will realize that you’ve answered your own question. This is not what a relationship is supposed to feel like, and if you want to set a good example for your children you will never stay with someone who doesn’t respect you and treat you right. You have to get out of that relationship fast, and make sure all your friends have your back and support you, because he is going to be mad.

i tried coupons.com but i couldnt get to the actual coupons i tried eversave, valpack, coupon mom , flamingo world i tried everything and havent found something that worked for some reason it wouldnt let me print the coupons. am i doin it wrong? smartsource is the only website that worked but i still need more than 12 coupons

I don’t need printable coupon sites – ink is way to expensive.
I would rather batch order the coupons for no charge & have them sent to my u.s. mail box FREE OF CHARGE !
you are correct, Ink is expensive. Stamps are expensive too.
Airlines allow you to have the boarding pass on your smart phone. Maybe you can sms the image to the smart phone and have the Grocery vendors the ability to "read" off the smart phone
