Law concerning harassment v.s. free speech – at what point is the law broken?

Posted by admin on Jan 29, 2010

We have a radical political group parked outside the entrance to our local grocery store. The manager (who is a nice guy) said the top company guys say the store cannot do anything, because it’s free speech. And even though the store itself is sort of private property, there’s something about public access so the store cannot through these people off the property.

They are getting many complaints from the customers, because these people are not just silently sitting at a table offering brochures – they have posters depicting (in a disgusting way) the prominent public figure/subject of their fury (I don’t want to go into the details because I do not want a political debate here), they yell at the customers and they are following some to their cars.

So far the police, who have been called, have said there is nothing they can do.

At what point, where is the line that has to be crossed, for these guys to be breaking the law, and hopefully then they can be removed?

If a little old lady has mace, and uses it on some guy in her face or almost in her car, is SHE the one in trouble?

They should not be allowed to block access to the store or bother the customers. If someone takes action against a protester, they should not get into trouble if they feel they were emanate danger If it continues to get more aggressive tell your store owner to get a lawyer

what eye makeups are good for people with allergies?

Posted by admin on Jan 29, 2010

i’ve only really gotten cheaper eyeliners, eyeshadow, and mascaras in my life because i really don’t want to spend money on good stuff & find out it’s a waste ’cause i’m allergic (when i say cheaper i mean name brand drug store/grocery store stuff – not like the $1 store)
i only wear makeup to special occasions because of the way my eyes feel when i wear makeup…and i have a really special occasion next may (yay wedding) so i want to find something i can wear comfortably for a whole day
do you know any good brands for this that give free samples of eye makeup? i would like to start wearing it regularly too…

thanks
according to the allergy test i know i’m allergic to l’oreal miracle wear mascara, all almay products, all physicians formula produts
i’ve had problems with some cover girl, rimmel london, and a few others

I can attest professionally as a makeup artist of over 20 years the "ONLY" mascara that I have seen works and passes the allergy test is Bee Luscious Sensitives Eyes Mascara or the Supreme Hypo Allergenic Mascara. Outside of those 2 never have I seen another brand work.

What Is a high grade wet and dry cat food that can be purchased in stores in the U.S.?

Posted by admin on Jan 22, 2010

I would like to be able to offer dry at all times and wet once or twice a day. I would a VERY high quality cat food, they don’t have to be of the same brand. I would like to be able to buy it in at least my local pet store (petsmart), and if it is sold in the grocery store that would be even more convinent. Price not being an issue. I would like both to be grain-free or low on grains and NOT haw corn in them… If anyone has any sugestions pleas help. Thank you!!!
I assumed nothing at the grocery stores would be good but I normally shop at a co-op and organic stores so I wasent sure if anything there might work.

Good rule of thumb is if you can find it in the grocery store it is not a High Quality food, try Natureal Balance, Wellness, Pinnical, Avodreme these are just a few really good foods. Good luck I feed natural Balance Duck and potato because my dogs have allergies and they both have beautiful coats they also sell it in a cat formula!!

Are you a?

Posted by admin on Jan 22, 2010

Are you a grocery store grazer. Or perhaps you have friends or family that are grazers. A grazer is someone that runs around the store eating up free samples and takes and perhaps grapes and such from produce or nut and candy cases.

well, if it were not for those free samples then the kids would go hungry on Saturday mornings.

Trying To Start A Business… I Need Free Advertising Ideas To Target My Customers?

Posted by admin on Jan 20, 2010

Hello and thank you for looking at my question. While you are here I hope that you will take another minute to answer my question with your ideas.

I am in the process of trying to start a photography business. I would be working mainly with weddings and events, but will also be doing head shots and portfolio photos for models.

To start off I will not be working out of a studio, most of my work would be elsewhere anyways considering that I would mainly do weddings and events. But now here is my question…

I know about a couple websites that I can advertise on, such as craigslist, etc… But I was hoping to get some ideas that other people may have as to where else I could advertise… but more importantly, where I can advertise for free and be able to reach people who may be interested in my services.

I am hoping to get some creative answers out of this. I had one idea to contact many local business related to weddings such as a florist, tuxedo place, limo company, etc… and offer to put a link to their website on mine in exchange for a link to my website on theirs, as well as to find out if I can put my business cards or flyers in their store and in return I will put theirs in a sales kit that I am in the process of building and will send out to prospective and contracted customers.

But besides this, I was wondering if anyone had any other ideas of places I may be able to advertise for free or at least VERY cheaply. I know sometimes you may be able to put up a flyer in grocery stores, laundromats, hair salons, etc… but I need some creative ideas such as the one I came up with to contact local related business to cross sell each others services.

Thanks again for your help, maybe this will get your brain working, or maybe you already have a thought which I hope you will share with me. Have a great day and happy holidays to you!
To Joe M’s comment below…

Actually I have booked quite a bit of work from my ads on craigslist. Each time I post my ad I get several replies to it, and I have booked 9 weddings for next year already in the past month from advertising for free on craigslist… and I also booked two more last minute ones for this year as well which I have since completed… so I hope this answers your question about that because even though you may not think so, posting on craigslist is well worth your time for two reasons… one is that people do go to it to find things, and also it puts your ad in the search engines!

Also, I already brought up all of the ideas you suggested, I am looking for something other than the ideas I know of which you just repeated.

Other than to contact wedding planners, which is not a bad idea, but I am sure that many others have contacted planners as well, so I would need to expand on this idea to get their attention.

Okay, I need fresh original ideas here….
Oh ya… and again Joe… I dont need vistaprint… I have an assistant who is a graphic designer, and like I already mentioned above. Really, its as if nothing I said was paid any attention to… oh boy…..

First, how many brides shop for photographes on Craigslist? Not many. What you need to do is make up some brochures and print some business cards, Vistaprint.com offers cheap business cards. Go to everywhere i bride will go and drop off brochures and business cards…Flower Stores, Bridal Shops!!, Tuxedo Stores, call some wedding planners and mail them your information
