America: the land of the free…why do i still have to pay for groceries and gas?

well sweetie i heard foodstamps buys food which is paid for by my/other taxes,
and just get yourself a bike so no gas issue

Land of the free as in freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom of the media, etc. You have to pay for groceries and gas because so does everyone else on the planet.
