Pay your bill in full every month. Always. Money paid in credit card interest is money wasted, flushed down the drain.

Avoid any credit card with an annual fee. They aren’t worth it. If your cards do have an annual fee, call the company and ask if they will waive it for this year. If they won’t, call and ask again until they do. Then call back next year.

Be careful of promotional rates. Your payments will always go to the lowest interest balance first. So say you get a nifty 0% balance transfer. Then you go and buy some groceries. Those groceries will stay there and rack up interest until you’ve paid off that whole balance transfer.
